500 TURN OUT FOR CANDLELIGHT VIGIL

12. Over 500 - by some counts as many as 700 - concerned citizens from
all over Athens-Clarke turned out for the candlelight vigil at City Hall
on Tuesday evening to show their disappointment with the Commission's
6-4 vote for sprawl, and to express support for a reversal of the zoning
decision. Everyone stood quietly on the steps and sidewalks from 6 to
6:30. At about 6:30, a vigil participant announced that the Commissioners,
